Service & Support
You have many different options available for support of
your Linux Laptops computer.
On the hardware side, our products are backed by
warranties from the manufacturers, in addition to
our own extended warranties.
On the software side, each computer comes with generous
professional phone and web support. When those run out,
you have many choices, including e-mail, phone, and even
remote network administration.
The last, remote network administration, may not be familiar to
you because on other operating systems it would require expensive
add-ons, if possible at all. On Linux it is natural: you connect
your computer via the internet to someone who can solve your
problem by operating your computer directly, while you watch.
In addition to direct support, each Linux Laptops
computer comes equipped to perform nearly-automatic upgrades
of all installed software, directly from the internet, with
only minimal direction.
Warranty Service
Each model of computer we sell comes with the full hardware
warranty provided by the manufacturer. Currently, Sony warrants
our Paquet for one year; Chembook warrants our Attaché for
one year (except the battery, six months), and IBM warrants our
Emissary for three years (except the battery, one year).
Linux Laptops extends the warranty
on labor for repairs to three years. Additional full-coverage
service contracts are available.
The software Linux Laptops loads on your computer is
licensed directly by its respective authors for your unlimited
use, free of charge, with no warranty for any purpose or use.
Linux Laptops does not sell or license the software
itself; rather, we provide the service of installing and configuring
it. All the software installed is available at no charge on the
Internet. However, Linux Laptops does warrant correct
installation of the the software.
Linux Laptops cannot warrant data you enter into the computer.
You are responsible for maintaining up-to-date backups of all data.
In the event that warranty repair requires replacement of the disk
drive, it is possible that all of the disk's contents may be lost,
and need to be restored from your backup media.
Support Contracts
The software included on the disk with your computer is free,
installed as a service by Linux Laptops. You can get
support for free software from companies that specialize in
providing such support.

Each Linux Laptops computer comes with optional coverage
for three hours of phone and web-based support from
Linux Support LLC,
the premier provider of support for individual Linux users.
Linux Support offers a variety of support plans, from
free web support up to guaranteed one-hour phone support.

offers a different variety of support choices.

Free Upgrades
Each Linux Laptops computer is configured to make
upgrading to all the latest software easy and free. The latest
versions of all the packages are on our server, ready to download.
Return Policy
We charge a 15% restocking fee for returned merchandise. Returns
will not be accepted without prior authorization. Returns will
not be authorized after 30 days.
